For
the Love of Frybread
Driving the highway in my rez rider,
A big chevy pow-wow van
Following directions with
the Circle
in my hand
Five minutes till grand entry but i got
plenty of time
cuz as you know this INDN runs
on
his own time
frybread now in the mouth while tying
the roach with a snug knot
one eye in the mirror, other on a passing
jingle dress that looks real
hot!
No time, but i jump in line, right behind
the "Frybread
Express" booth
She makes small talk, "Who I am? Where I'm from?
So with sweat on my forehead I stutter
the
answers that sound real dumb
She smiles a smile like she already won me over
So she turns around and leans into my shoulder
I gently nudge her to the side
with the smile of a tease
and ask "Can I have one frybread please?"
